Spinal decompression involves stretching the spine to relieve back pain and/or leg pain while also healing bulging, degenerated, or herniated disks. To do this, we attempt to create a negative intradiscal pressure which promotes retraction, or re-positioning of the herniated or bulging disc material. During decompression, we also create a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients as well as other substances into the disc.
During your treatment, we intermittently stretch and relax your spine in a controlled way. The entire theory behind this process is to create a negative intradiscal pressure which will pull the herniated or bulging disc material back into the correct space as well as promote a passage of healing nutrients into the disc so it is able to heal.
Our entire staff is dedicated to our patients. We want you to be able to live pain-free, (and quickly). We never just look at the problem while trying to mask the pain. Instead, we want to get to the bottom of your spinal issues so that you never feel this way again. Our office provides a calming atmosphere so you are sure to feel comfortable while your body is trying to heal.
