Chiropractic Adjustments Improve Your Health
After a systematic review of what is currently known about the novel coronavirus, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued interim guidance for people and business owners. This advice includes things like maintaining a disinfected environment and separating the sick or potentially infected and requesting that they stay home if experiencing acute respiratory illnesses. Additionally, U.S. public health officials have begun implementing social distancing measures in an effort to mitigate the COVID-19 outbreak.
What Is A Coronavirus?
According to the CDC, coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that are responsible for illnesses such as the common cold. They also cause more severe diseases you may remember like Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. The newest strain of these viruses has been named SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2) and causes a disease called COVID-19.
Immune System Health Is Key To Fighting Off Infection
Another important factor in the fight against this virus is good personal health. As more and more statistics come in, it has become abundantly clear that people who are otherwise healthy have a much better chance of experiencing mild or asymptomatic illness. Maintaining a strong and healthy immune system has always been key to our ability to fight off infections.
Your body’s nervous system controls all of the functions of its cells, organs, and tissues – including your immune system. Organs that have a particularly strong relationship with the immune system, such as the lymph nodes and the spleen, communicate directly with your brain and nerves. If your nervous system isn’t functioning at an optimal level, a communication breakdown can occur making it significantly more difficult to fight off an infection. Chiropractic care improves nervous system function, so the body is able to function at its best. Scientific studies show that people who receive chiropractic manipulations have fewer colds than people who do not receive this care.
